Isle of Wight 2022- What a week!
We are really looking forward to our Year 6 residential trip to the Isle of Wight.
Children will need to arrive at school for 7:30am on Monday 13th June ready to depart promptly at 8:00am.
Day 1- Beach
We have arrived safely in the Isle of Wight and spent the afternoon at the beach! The children thoroughly enjoyed the crossing on the ferry, taking in the sights whilst enjoying their lunch! At the beach, the children played football, built sandcastles and played in the sea! Some of them ended up very wet and sandy but they all had great fun! This evening we will be having dinner and then making our way to crazy golf!
Day 1- Mini Golf
The children had great fun at Pirate Cove Crazy Golf! For some it was a chance to show off their golfing skills! We had some hole-in-one shots as well as some free games being won for the final hole! Lots of fun was had by all!
Day 2- Monkey Haven and Dino Isle
We started the day by visiting Monkey Haven- an animal sanctuary predominantly for primates. The children had a fascinating talk about different animals and how they came to be on the Isle of Wight. After a morning monkeying around we made our way to Dino Isle. Here the children were able to explore the museum, looking at fossils and then take a guided tour along the beach to take part in a fossil hunt! They were very pleased with their findings!
Day 3- Robin Hill Country Park
Today has been a great day! The children started by enjoying a 4D experience before taking to the tree tops! They thoroughly enjoyed the Squirrel Tower- climbing up and down ensuring they didn't get stuck! We then watched the Falcon show where the children were able to see birds of prey up close. Luckily, we managed to find a shady spot for lunch before making our way down for some splashing fun and the toboggan run! We have managed to drink lots of water as well as eating lots of ice cream to stay cool and hydrated!
Day 4- Black Gang Chine
Today was another great day! More sunshine and lots of fun! The children enjoyed a variety of rides, water slides and themed areas! We rode the rollercoaster, slid down the slides and pretended to be pirates and cowboys! We are all looking forward to our final night together!
Day 4- A Night at the Boscars
For our final night in the Isle of Wight, the children attended our very own Boscars Award Ceremony (Burnt Oak Oscars). All children got to walk the red carpet, showing off their best poses before the ceremony begun. Several awards were given out and the children all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
